Open-air Cuban charcoal grill on Naranja Road, with live music and a playground for the kids
El Rincon Alegre cooks over charcoal in the open air, on Naranja Road (SW 147th Avenue) near SW 232nd Street, in the farm belt of south Miami-Dade, a short drive from Homestead.
The grill is the point: lonjas de puerco, charcoal-roasted pork leg, plus pork ribs, picaña and whole fried fish, served at picnic tables under cover, with tamales and tostones alongside. Drinks are pressed and poured fresh: guarapo (sugarcane juice), coco frío, natural fruit juices and horchata.
There is live Latin music, and a playground and bounce house so families can settle in for the afternoon. Parking is free on site, and the kitchen also runs a drive-through, takeout and delivery.
