Osamu Menéndez Santana

He made his debut on the Cuban music scene in the 1990s as a member of the group "Havana." He belongs to a generation of actors and creators—including X Alfonso and Esteban Puebla—whose work was shaped by the rock music of the 1970s. Between 1992 and 1996, the group Havana recorded its debut album with a Mexican label. During that period, the band became one of the most popular Spanish-language alternative rock acts, as their lyrics resonated with the sentiments of the general public. In 1997, they traveled to Mexico, where their artistic vision shifted toward Latin rock. Later, Osamu began developing the demo for his first solo album, *Ven a mi vida*; the project came to fruition during a time of crisis—the group Havana's breakup after twelve years together. Signed to the Bis Music label, the musician released the promotional album *La vida no es tan dura*, followed by the CD *La vida puede cambiar*, seamlessly blending various genres—including Cuban rock, "rock con sabor" (rock with a Latin flair), rap, *nueva canción*, and timba.
